Up to 75 jobs are to be created in Derry after three high street stores today signed up as new tenants in one of the city’s main shopping outlets.

Next Home, Mothercare and Dreams, which will open over the course of the next three months in the Crescent Link Retail Park, are offering both full time and part time roles.

The contracts were brokered by commercial property agency Lisney.

Its associate director, Nicky Finnieston, said the investments would provide a significant economic boost to the north west.

“Crescent Link is a prime retail destination with the added benefit of a significant amount of cross-border trade,” he said.

“As a result, we have been able to attract a large amount of interest from retailers in a difficult market. These prestigious new tenants bring a significant amount of investment to the North West and are creating important new employment in the area.”

Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Homebase, Currys, PC World and Toys R Us already trade out of Crescent Link, which is the second largest retail park in Northern Ireland.
