Two houses attacked in North

No-one was injured in the attacks carried out in Portadown last night.

In the first incident the front windows of a house in Princess Way were smashed while the Indian occupants, a couple and their two children, were inside.

A short time later three windows were smashed in a house, also belonging to an Indian family, around the corner in Princess Gardens. No-one was at home at the time.

Police appealed for anyone who witnessed the attacks or knew anything about them to contact them or to use the confidential telephone.

The incidents came 48 hours after a multi-agency campaign began in a bid to cut down the high number of hate crimes being recorded in Northern Ireland.
