Two foreign nationals have been arrested during a raid on a suspected brothel in Dundalk, Co Louth.

Two foreign nationals have been arrested during a raid on a suspected brothel in Dundalk, Co Louth.

An apartment on Jocelyn St was raided by gardaí last night and two women were arrested.

The women, from the Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, were held under the Aliens Act. They have since been freed, but a file is being prepared for the DPP.

The women were in their thirties and spoke very good English and have been living in Ireland for sometime. Both have addresses in Dublin. Detectives suspect the women were working for another non-national

Gardaí say they may have been working as prostitutes in other towns around Ireland and that Dundalk was regularly visited.
