Two men in their 20s will appear in court next month in relation to an attempted burglary at a shop in Dublin earlier today.
Gardaí made two arrests after they discovered two men at the rear of the shop on the South Circular Road as they attempted to gain entry at about 2am.
There was extensive damage to the rear of the building where someone had tried to create a hole in the back wall. However, nothing was taken during the incident, a Garda statement said.
When the men were disturbed they tried to escape through the back gardens of houses, however pursuing gardai were able to apprehend the men after a short chase.
Two men were held at Kilmainham Garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and later released on bail pending a court appearance on February 18th.
