A man in his mid 30s and a woman in her 40s have been released on bail after appearing in court in Dublin today charged in relation to fraudulent welfare claims.

The two were among five people arrested early this morning as part of an ongoing investigation into fraudulent claims.

The arrests came after a number of houses in the north and west Dublin areas were searched and a number of documents seized.

The man and woman who appeared in the Dublin District Court this afternoon, are bailed return to court next week.

A a 19-year-old man, is due to appear at Blanchardstown District Court at 10.30 am tomorrow in connection with the same charges.

Two other people, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s, have been released without charge and a file sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
