The aviation industry faces a week of uncertainty, with industrial action threatening two maintenance plants.
At Airmotive, an Aer Lingus subsidiary in Rathcoole, Co Dublin, workers have voted for industrial action over pay. Meanwhile, TEAM's 1,700 workers at Dublin Airport are to hold a strike ballot if Aer Lingus refuses to negotiate on issues which have remained unresolved since previously disputes.
It was not clear last night whether the Airmotive workers' dispute would go ahead today. A union executive meeting will take place this morning. A strike would immediately affect 83 workers, but if they cease work it is expected that all 433 at the plant will be laid off.
TEAM workers held a meeting yesterday and decided to postpone a decision on a strike ballot until next week.
