SURREY - Eurosceptic Tory MP Sir George Gardiner was last night deselected as candidate in the next election by his local party.
He first lost a confidence motion by 291-226, forcing a vote on deselection. Forty five minutes later he emerged from the meeting having lost the deselection vote by 272 to 213.
