A woman was remanded in custody today in connection with the seizure of €240,000 worth of cannabis at Dublin airport yesterday.

Officers from Revenue's customs service seized 20kg of herbal cannabis after they searched a suitcase of clothing, a statement from Revenue said.

A woman, a South African national, was arrested and handed over to the Ballymun Garda drug squad. She appeared before Blanchardstown District Court this morning where she was remanded in custody

Separately, customs officers at Dublin airport also seized €35,000 worth of cocaine on Tuesday.

Revenue said a man had concealed two pellets containing 100gm of the drug internally on his person and another man had ingested 45 pellets containing 400gm of cocaine.

Two men appeared at Blanchardstown District Court this morning in connection with the seizure and both were remanded in custody.
