A 47 year old man is recovering in hospital after a "punishment" attack in east Belfast

A 47 year old man is recovering in hospital after a "punishment" attack in east Belfast. The victim was beaten by a group of masked men, armed with sticks, in Meekon Street.

A woman in the house was held down during the incident.

Two men are in hospital after another "punishment" attack in the Waterside area of Derry on Sunday.

One of the men has a broken leg and the other has head and leg injuries. They were in a flat at Aughlish Court when they were attacked by three masked men wielding iron bars and baseball bats.
