Three held over south-east car thefts

Three people have been arrested in connection with a spate of car thefts in the south east.

Three people have been arrested in connection with a spate of car thefts in the south east.

Gardaí suspect the three may have been involved in an organised crime gang, including breaking into vehicles and carrying out thefts, targeting car owners across the south east.

Two men, aged 17 and 23, and a woman (23) were arrested at Rossbrien, Limerick today as part of an operation involving gardaí from Tipperary, Waterford and Limerick.

The 17-year-old is being detained at Cahir Garda Station while the two others are being detained at Nenagh Garda Station.

Gardaí said the three were being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be detained for a period up to 48 hours.
