CLARE COUNTY Council has advertised for tenders for the provision of a long-awaited €6 million pier for Doolin, Co Clare.

CLARE COUNTY Council has advertised for tenders for the provision of a long-awaited €6 million pier for Doolin, Co Clare.

The local authority is seeking tenders for consulting engineering led services associated with the design-and-build contract for the new Doolin harbour development.

The proposed new harbour development works comprise a new pier of up to 60 metres, an access road of about 115 metres, and sea dredging in Doolin harbour.

Clare TD and Minister for Defence Tony Killeen has confirmed that the planning application and the foreshore licence application for the project are currently being advanced separately by the council.
