A Belfast teenager who stabbed another youth in the back causing life-threatening injuries was sentenced to four years' detention yesterday at Belfast Crown Court.
Minutes after that attack on St Stephen's Day last year, Paul Anthony Clarke (18) slashed the throat of another man who had tried to aid the victim. Clarke, from Etna Drive, Ardoyne, had pleaded guilty to two charges of malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Judge Anthony Hart ordered that Clarke should serve two years on probation after his release to include an anger management programme.
Clarke's brother Stephen (20), also from Etna Drive, who admitted two charges of common assault, was put on probation for two years.
