A teenager died when his bicycle collided with a car at Clonea Power, near Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary, on Sunday evening.
David Butler (15), of Comeragh View, Carrick-on-Suir, was cycling with a friend at about 7 when he was struck by the car and killed. His body was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital. His 16year-old companion was not injured.
The accident brings the number of people killed in road accidents in the past 11 days to 29.
