Islands Of Wakfu

Well, this is classy. Like many, many role-playing games Islands of Wakfustarts off in a lovely place – all idyllic weather, colourful flora and fauna, and nicely dressed locals. But, as usual, the serene Islands of Wakfuare about to be invaded by a sinister force. Thankfully the peaceful natives have some nifty combat moves. Playing alternately as a young girl and her faithful dragon (or both at once, if you're doing multiplayer), you have numerous means to defend yourself.

The girl teleports, kicks and punches with panache, and the dragon can spit and fly. Islands of Wakfuis beautifully presented, with gorgeous layout and graphics taking influence from Manga and children's book illustration. As you might have guessed, this isn't quite revolutionary, but it is an elegant and ultimately ingratiating RPG.
