Board games are so 1990s, but every so often you may get a hankering for some old-school fun. EA has tried to fill the gap with the Family Game Nightseries. You know what to expect: a few well-known board games brought to the console. This time you get some old favourites with a twist, such as Connect 4with added basketball and Yahtzeewith bowling (the pins are your dice). You get the idea – these aren't your average board games. Even with the changes, though, it feels a little flat. Even with Mr Potato Head(an old childhood favourite) on hand and the gameshow format., it didn't generate much excitement. Multiplayer is local and limited to two people, which makes sense for some games, but also means as far as "family game night" goes, there are bound to be a few members sitting around twiddling their thumbs.
