Dragon Quest VIis a traditional turn-based RPG which sees you battle your way through the world, gathering experience, skills and party members as you go. Battles are random. One minute, you're walking through a forest, the next you're being hypnotised by the Scare Root's dance in the middle of a battle. As the hero, you can build your skills and explore the realms at your fingertips – both real and dream – in a bid to track down and defeat evil. Although the graphics won't blow you away, the game makes the most of the DS's dual screens while wandering around the world and battling. If turn-based combat isn't your strong suit, this game will hold little interest for you. But for RPG fans, Dragon Quest VIis a welcome addition to the DS game portfolio.
