Talks held on hostages

 

JAKARTA - A separatist rebel leader holding a dozen hostages, including, six Europeans, in Indonesia's Irian Jaya had talks with a senior International Red Cross official in a jungle clearing yesterday.

Sources close to the rescue operation said Mr Kelik Kwalik, a Free Papua Movement (OPM) leader, met Mr Henri Fournier, head of the Jakarta mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
