A syringe-wielding thief got away with the contents of a till in a raid on the Educational Building Society in Rathmines, Dublin, yesterday. The incident happened just after 2 p.m. when a man in his mid-to late 20s entered the building and threatened staff with the syringe.
A Garda spokeswoman described him as about 6 feet in height, wearing a yellow jacket, a baseball hat and dark sunglasses. Gardai last night appealed for witnesses to the raid.
