At least 30 people were killed and about 500 others injured when a tropical storm swept parts of northern Bangladesh last night.
Police said more than 300 people were treated in hospitals for injuries caused mostly by flying debris.
Some were trapped under collapsed houses or trees uprooted by winds that have reached up to 90 mph. Police said the death toll could rise once full details become available.
