Bogota - A Colombian man committed suicide with a vial of poison yesterday after a drug-sniffing airport dog picked up the scent of the heroin he was about to smuggle abroad, authorities said.
Police said Antonio Jose Gonzalez Echeverri (57) was in a wheelchair as he prepared to board an early morning flight from Cali to Panama. Meanwhile the Mexican navy has seized 2.3 tonnes of cocaine from a vessel that came from Colombia, and arrested three people, authorities announced.
