The Murroe area of Co Limerick is without water for a week due to pollution. Experts believe that slurry may have been the source of the contamination. Tests are being carried out. The health authorities warned against drinking or washing clothes in the water.

Limerick County Council is supplying water by tanker to some 500 householders. It is hoped to have the supply restored tomorrow.
