Ljubljana - The Slovene writers' association has accused a British television company of confusing its country with Romania in a report on Prince Charles's visit to Slovenia, the STA news agency reported yesterday. It said the group had sent a stiff letter to Sky News after Prince Charles passed through Llubljana earlier this week on his way to Romania, Bulgaria and Macedonia. According to the group, Sky aired footage of Prince Charles walking through Lljubljana in a piece on the regime of the late Romanian dictator, Nicolae Ceausescu.
"To confuse Ljubljana with Bucharest and one country with another is a sign not only of complete ignorance but also of disrespect for your viewers, to say nothing of the inhabitants of Slovenia," the association wrote. No Sky News spokesman was available for comment yesterday.
