Six people were killed and many others were injured today when an explosion tore through a passenger bus in Grozny, capital of the separatist Russian republic of Chechnya, Interfax news agency reported.
There were no immediate details as to what sparked the blast.
The republic has enjoyed relative calm in the weeks leading up to and since a controversial March 23rd constitutional referendum, which cemented the restive Muslim region as a part of Russia.
