Gardai are investigating a shooting at the Garda sports and leisure centre in Westmanstown, west Dublin, this afternoon.
The incident happened at 1pm in the club's car park. One man in his mid-30s was shot a number of times by a lone gunman as he sat in his car. He was brought to James Connolly hospital in Blanchardstown. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The gunman, also in his mid-30s, was disarmed and arrested at the scene by off-duty gardai. He is being held at Lucan Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. Two firearms were also recovered at the scene. Both men involved are from Moldova.
The scene is currently being preserved.
