A man with cerebral palsy will receive €900,000 from a settlement of a High Court action over the death of his mother, his primary carer, in a road accident.

Margaret Sinnott (48) died on May 15th, 2005, when her car was hit at Harristown, Co Wexford, by another vehicle which had itself been allegedly struck by a car driven by Lee Cummins of Ballyanne, New Ross, Wexford. Jason Sinnott (31), of Mulrankin, Bridgetown, Wexford, brought proceedings as personal representative of his mother’s estate against Mr Cummins.The principal claim was for the cost of Mr Sinnott replacing his mother’s services for him.
