A judge has adjourned sentencing a Dublin man and his sons who have pleaded guilty to committing an “elaborate” dole fraud worth almost €25,000.
Judge Cormac Dunne said yesterday at Dublin District Court that he wanted more detailed evidence from the prosecution as to how the fraud was operated.
Eddie Duff snr (63), South Lotts Road, Ringsend, and his twin sons Edward and Graham Duff (27) have owned up to their roles in the benefit fraud. Judge Dunne adjourned the case for mention on September 28th.
The three men face charges of deception and forgery of dockets at Blanchardstown social welfare office and a number of post offices, two in Dublin and one in Co Meath, on dates from 2008 to 2011.
Judge Dunne heard Duff snr “was involved in the planning and managing of this fraud”.
