Two ambulances have been sent to an Arizona air force base which is on lockdown amid unconfirmed reports of gunfire, a fire spokeswoman said.
A Davis-Monthan Air Force Base spokesman would not confirm that shots had been fired or if anyone has been wounded.
Senior airman Timothy Dunaway said traffic has been reduced to a single-point entry but he refused to elaborate.
He said two primary schools on the base are also on lockdown.

Tucson fire spokeswoman Trish Tracy said that besides the ambulances, two fire engines were sent to the base.
Davis-Monthan is adjacent to the Pima Air & Space Museum and the “boneyard” for old military and government planes that is a popular destination for aviation enthusiasts.
