JERUSALEM - A state commission looking into the disappearance of hundreds of Yemeni Jewish children in Israel more than 40 years ago is considering opening unmarked graves where they may be buried, its chairman said yesterday.

Some Yemeni Jews in Israel claim the authorities, motivated by racism and perhaps profit, took hundreds of children who were in hospital between 1948 and 1950 and handed them over for adoption to Jewish families of European extraction.
