An SDLP delegation has had talks, described as "constructive", with Orange Order officers on the issue of contentious marches on the Ormeau Road in Belfast.
SDLP councillor, Mr Alasdair McDonnell, deputy Lord Major of Belfast, led the SDLP delegation of five which met officers of the Ballynafeigh Orange Lodge in the lodge's hall on the Upper Ormeau Road.
He said afterwards the meeting had been very useful - "It made it very clear to us that there was no intention of giving offence and that they were terribly keen to reach reconciliation and stability on the Ormeau Road."
The two groups are to continue to have contact in an effort to resolve the problem of marches along the route.
