SENIOR SDLP politicians met their Oireachtas counterparts at Leinster House yesterday in the first of a series of weekly visits the Northern party will be making to Leinster House when the Dáil is in session, writes Deaglán de Bréadún, Political Correspondent.

SDLP health spokesman Tommy Gallagher met his Fine Gael opposite number, Dr James Reilly, Labour spokeswoman, Jan O’Sullivan, and Fianna Fáil TD for Cavan-Monaghan Margaret Conlon.

Mr Gallagher, who is an Assembly member for Fermanagh-South Tyrone, said topics discussed included the development of new radiotherapy facilities at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry, which are to be funded in part by Dublin.

Also discussed was the new hospital due to open in Enniskillen in 2012.
