Mr Adam Busby (48), a native of Paisley, Scotland, with an address at Upper Gardiner Street, Dublin was charged with having improvised incendiary devices in envelopes addressed to the British Labour Party leader, Mr Tony Blair, band the shadow Scottish secretary, Mr George Robertson MP, between January 1st and March 10th 1995.

He is also charged with sending "a message of menacing character" to newspapers in Glasgow on January 5th, 1995.

Yesterday, Det Insp Peter Maguire said the Special Criminal Court had set his trial date for November 19th. However, Mr Busby then took an action challenging the jurisdiction of the Special Criminal Court, which has been adjourned pending the outcome of 15 habeas corpus applications.

Det Insp Maguire said he was satisfied Mr Busby would abscond and interfere with witnesses if granted bail.
