Seán Conlan TD remanded on bail over alleged pub assault

Former Cavan-Monaghan Fine Gael deputy charged under section 11 of Firearms Act

A Cavan-Monaghan TD has been remanded on bail on charges relating to an alleged assault at his family-owned pub last year.

Former Cavan-Monaghan Fine Gael deputy Seán Conlan (42) had been remanded from a previous sitting of Carrickmacross District Court on his own bail of €100.

The TD appeared briefly in court again on Wednesday on two charges relating to the incident in Ballybay on August 23rd last.

Mr Conlan, Main Street, Ballybay, Co Monaghan, was charged under section 11 of the Firearms Act for the alleged use of a broken pint glass during the pub incident and also with unlawfully assaulting and causing harm to Enda Duffy of Annahia, Ballybay.
