A VIDEO highlighting the crucial role of CAT scanners in hospitals was shown yesterday at the launch of the Portiuncula Hospital CAT Scan Appeal at the Malt House in Mountbellew, Co Galway. Dr Vincent Parsons, a consultant radiologist at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, Co Galway, said a CATscanner, costing approximately £500,000 was "vitally important for a large number of urgent medical conditions".
