Sakhee will miss his intended comeback race at the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh next weekend.

Godolphin's five-year-old, officially rated the best horse in the world last year, will bypass the event a week on Sunday.

Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford told The Irish Times: "Sakhee will come out later in the year but we haven't a firm plan for him yet. We will probably run Tobougg at the Curragh instead".

Sakhee, a wide-margin winner of the Juddmonte International Stakes and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on turf last season, was only third in the Dubai World Cup on dirt at Nad Al Sheba in March.

Tobougg, who reportedly lost a shoe when well beaten in the Sheema Classic on the World Cup card, finished second in the Champion Stakes and the Hong Kong Cup in 2001.

Godolphin often use the mile-and-a-quarter Tattersalls Gold Cup as a launch pad for a top older horse. Fantastic Light won the race in 2001, and Mutafaweq and Daylami placed in the two previous years.

Tobougg's likely rivals on Sunday week include his Champion Stakes conqueror, Nayef.
