The 32 County Sovereignty Movement has called on all sections of the IRA to reject the Belfast Agreement and to support "an alternative peace strategy" lodged by the movement at the United Nations.
In a statement yesterday, the national executive of the movement called on the IRA, "and in particular those volunteers loyal to the Provisional leadership, to support the alternative peace strategy lodged at the United Nations and to reject the Stormont deal on the grounds that it recognises Britain's claim to sovereignty on Irish soil".
It also appealed to the Provisional IRA not to become involved in military operations, "to enhance a British administration whose objectives are a direct challenge to Ireland's right to sovereignty". It said the "peaceful alternative to the Agreement for Republicans was to pursue this right to sovereignty through international arbitration at the UN".
