SIR Patrick Mayhew is to meet relatives of those killed on Bloody Sunday. The announcement yesterday gives further momentum to the campaign to establish a new inquiry into the events of that day, 25 years ago in Derry.
The SDLP leader, Mr John Hume, and relatives of the 14 people shot dead by the British army will present the Northern Secretary with a dossier of what they contend is new evidence justifying a public inquiry.
It is hoped the meeting can take place this Friday at Stormont.
