A threat to the Bloody Sunday inquiry was lifted in the High Court in Belfast yesterday when relatives of the 14 victims were granted leave to apply for a judicial review.
Some relatives had threatened to take no further part in the inquiry after the London High Court granted four soldiers permission to try to overturn Lord Saville's decision that they could be named when they give evidence.
The inquiry tribunal decided not to recommend that the relatives' legal costs to challenge this should be paid out of public funds, so the relatives sought a judicial review.
