Rangers took advantage of Celtic's inactivity to stretch their lead at the top of the Scottish premier league to six points with a 1-0 win over Hearts today.
Rangers's fourth victory against the Edinburgh side this season came courtesy of an own goal from Scotland midfielder Scott Severin four minutes before halftime.
The Glasgow side's success made it three wins in the league and another in the League Cup against the third-placed team.
Celtic's game at Motherwell was postponed because of a frozen pitch, one of three SPL games called off on a frosty day in Scotland.
Rangers now have 75 points from 28 games with Celtic on 69 from 27 and Hearts on 46 from 28.
Dunfermline edged into fourth place on 39 points, above Kilmarnock on goal difference, after a 3-1 win at Hibernian in the only other SPL game to survive the weather.
Kilmarnock's game against Partick Thistle and Dundee's against Livingston were also called off as the temperatures dropped below freezing.
A Scottish premier league official said the league would launch an inquiry into why the clubs were unable to protect their pitches.
