Two men made off with an undisclosed quantity of cash after a bank raid in Co Tipperary this afternoon.

Two men made off with an undisclosed quantity of cash after a bank raid in Co Tipperary this afternoon.

The raid on the AIB bank on Tipperary town's Main Street took place at 12.35 p.m. The raiders used a sawn-off shotgun and made their getaway in a car.

The car was found in a near-by river, a Garda spokesman said.
