Raider escapes with cash from Waterford bank

An armed raider escaped with a small quantity of cash from a Waterford city bank this afternoon.

An armed raider escaped with a small quantity of cash from a Waterford city bank this afternoon.

Gardaí said the incident happened shortly before 4pm when a man entered the National Irish Bank at Barronstrand Street and demanded cash from a member of staff before making his escape on foot.

No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.
