The men ran out of Caldwells jewellers in Church Street, Ballymena, in Northern Ireland, with a tray of three diamond and platinum rings at around 3pm yesterday afternoon.

Both men were described as having "swarthy" complexions and are believed to be eastern European.

One was in his late 30s, about 5ft 4ins tall and had gold fillings in his teeth. He was wearing a grey pinstripe suit and tweed flat cap at the time of the robbery.

The second man, also in his late 30s, was about 5ft 11ins, with black, wavy, gelled hair, and was wearing a white striped shirt and cream trousers.

Police have appealed for any witnesses or anyone who is offered rings of a similar description under suspicious circumstances to contact them.
