LARKANA - Demonstrators clashed with police yesterday outside the house of Murtaza Bhutto, the slain brother of Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, blocking a condolence call by President Farooq Leghari.
Witnesses said the demonstrators chased away police as Mr Leghari's motorcade approached the area in Larkana in Sindh province, forcing the President to withdraw. They said about 250 supporters of Mr Bhutto blocked the road and chanted slogans accusing Ms Bhutto's husband, Mr Asif Ali Zardari, of conspiring in the death of their leader in a shoot out with police on Friday.
