London - The former British prime minister, Mr John Major, has run up a £400,000 legal bill while acting as guardian to Princes William and Harry, it was reported yesterday.
An invoice has been sent to the Prince of Wales after Mr Major engaged a leading firm of solicitors, London-based Boodle Hatfield, to handle the legal work for negotiations over the will of Diana, Princess of Wales.
Mr Major was appointed last November to look after the £12.9 million inheritance that the princes will receive from their mother's estate when they reach 25.
