There has been a major power cut in the Dublin 15 area caused by an overhead electricity line falling near Mochas Church in Porterstown.
A spokesperson for ESB said the Dublin Fire Brigade have been called to the scene following reports of an explosion.
It is thought that the power line may have hit a transformer leaving up to 4,000 homes temporarily without electricity. Nobody has been hurt in the incident.
Areas without electricity include parts of Blanchardstown, Porterstown, Castleknock and parts of Carpenterstown.
