Power claims first Milk Rás stage victory

Ireland's Ciaran Power won his first ever stage of the FBD Milk Rás today, taking the third stage from Clifden to Ballina.

Ireland's Ciaran Power won his first ever stage of the FBD Milk Rás today, taking the third stage from Clifden to Ballina.

Power, of Team Ireland Irish Sports Council, came home in a time of 3 hours, 27 minutes and 24 seconds on the 470km stage to take top spot ahead of Eugene Moriaty and Malcolm Elliott.

Power has triumphed in the Milk Rás on two previous occasions, but before today had never claimed an individual stage.

Power's Team Ireland team-mate Thomas Evans retains the overall lead by just four seconds from Denmark's Ari Hojgaard.

Tomorrow's fourth stage will take the riders 107 miles (173km) from Ballina to Letterkenny.
