Two thousand people die prematurely because of poverty in Northern Ireland every year, according to a new study, the latest in a series called "The Price of Being Poor", by the General Consumer Council.

It estimates that a quarter of all Northern households are below the poverty line. It also said people in poorer areas are three or four times more likely to be taking medication for their "nerves".
