On Wednesday, MerrionStreet.ie – the Government’s official news service – launched an online poll where a logo for the event can be chosen.

The four options are published on the website and the winning logo will “visually represent” our presidency.

The design with the highest number of votes wins. The poll closes at 5pm on December 31st, with the winner to be announced early next year.

The logos are called “Connections”, “Wave”, “Spirals” and “Logotype”. Log in to see how much guff can be written about a few lines and squiggles.

And we mustn’t forget the 50th International Eucharistic Congress, which is happening next June.
