International efforts to protect migrant workers' rights will see the leader of Poland's largest trade union visit Dublin today.
Janusz Sniadek, president of the polish trade union 'Solidarnosc', will hold talks with Siptu officials at Liberty Hall, before attending the Irish trade union's Mid west Regional Conference in Waterford.
Both organisations are involved in a joint programme aimed at encouraging Polish workers employed in Ireland to join a trade union in order to secure their rights.
Siptu said it was estimated that there are 174,000 Polish workers in Ireland.
