Detectives in Co Antrim were today hunting a teenager who raped a 15-year-old girl in an alleyway.

Detectives in Co Antrim were today hunting a teenager who raped a 15-year-old girl in an alleyway.

The victim had spent yesterday evening with up to 40 young people in the Harmony Hill area of Lisburn.

But after she left the crowd with her attacker the schoolgirl was sexually assaulted near shops, between Moss Road and Sharry Drive, around 9pm.

Inspector Karen Baxter, the officer leading the investigation, urged the suspect to turn himself in.

Insp Baxter said: "This has been a terrible ordeal for the young girl and her family. They are devastated.

"We would urge this boy to come forward and speak to police at the earliest opportunity."

The teenager is described as 13-15, 5ft 5in, of slim build, with dark hair and tanned skin.

He was wearing a navy and white top, blue jeans and a baseball cap.

Police believe he is from the Lisburn area.
