Police are hunting a gang who beat a man for hours during an attack in north Belfast.

The victim, in his 40s, was treated in hospital for head, body and leg wounds after being set upon by up to five men at a house in the Wilton Street area. It is believed the attack lasted for around two hours.

They tied him up and covered his head before beating him, a PSNI spokeswoman said.

"He was repeatedly beaten and had paint thrown over him," she said.
